What does ISO-BE mean?
ISO-BE refers to the standard Belgian AZERTY keyboard layout. Finding high-quality custom mechanical keyboards in this specific layout can be incredibly frustrating. That is exactly why Bonsai Keyboards was created: we specialize in offering premium Keychron boards strictly in the ISO-BE layout.
Are these keyboards compatible with both Mac and Windows?
Yes, absolutely! Keychron keyboards are famous for their seamless compatibility with both Mac and Windows. Each board features a simple physical toggle switch on the back to instantly swap between operating systems. Plus, they all come with the specific extra keycaps for both Mac (Option/Command) and Windows (Win/Alt) included in the box, so your physical layout always matches your screen perfectly.
Do I need to know how to solder to build a keyboard?
Not at all! All the Keychron keyboards we offer are fully "hot-swappable". This means you can simply push the switches into the PCB by hand and pull them out with a switch puller. No soldering iron required, making it perfect for beginners and enthusiasts who like to easily change their sound profile.
Do I need to manually lube the switches myself?
While you always can if you want to, it is absolutely not required. We have specifically curated a selection of premium Gateron and Kailh switches that come with excellent factory lubrication. They are buttery smooth right out of the box, saving you hours of tedious work.

Setup & Customization
How do I switch between Mac/Windows and connection modes?
Use the physical toggle switches on the back edge of your keyboard. The OS toggle switches between Mac and Windows layout (don't forget to swap your keycaps!), while the mode toggle lets you switch seamlessly between Bluetooth (BT), wired USB-C (Cable), and the 2.4GHz receiver (G).
Why do symbols like @, <, or ² on my Mac not match my Belgian AZERTY keycaps?
Apple uses a custom Belgian AZERTY layout on macOS that differs slightly from standard PC keycaps. To make every key, symbol, and Option shortcut on your Keychron match your keycaps 1-to-1 on Mac:
How do I program macros, remap keys, or change the lighting?
Connect your keyboard using the USB-C cable (wired mode is required for key mapping) and open the Keychron Launcher web app in Google Chrome or Edge (unfortunately, Safari and Firefox do not support this). From there, you can easily remap any key, create custom macros, and customize your RGB backlighting effects.
How do I replace or hot-swap switches?
Pull the old switch straight up using the included switch puller. Check your new switch to ensure both metal pins are straight, align them at the top with the socket, and gently press straight down until it clicks. Never force a switch. If it resists, check if a pin is bent.
A key isn't working after installing a new switch. What should I do?
Don't worry, a metal pin likely bent during installation! Gently remove the switch with your puller, use your fingers or tweezers to straighten the flattened pin on the bottom, align it carefully with the socket, and push it back in.

Switches that have been mounted on a keyboard cannot be returned. You can read our full Return & Refund Policy for all the details.
