Refund policy

We have a 14-day return policy, which means you have 14 days after receiving your item to request a return.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

Important note regarding switches: For quality assurance purposes, mechanical switches can only be returned if they are completely unused. Switches that have been mounted on a keyboard or modified in any way will not be accepted.

How to start a return

To start a return, please log in to your customer account on our website and submit a request through our self-serve return portal.

If your return is accepted, we will generate a bpost return label and upload it directly to your request. You will automatically receive a confirmation email from Shopify containing this return label as a PDF attachment, along with instructions on how to drop off your package. Please note that returns will ultimately be sent to the following address:

Items sent back to us without first requesting a return through the portal will not be accepted. You can always contact us for any return-related questions at hello@bonsaikeyboards.com.

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

Exceptions / non-returnable items
Certain types of items cannot be returned. We do not accept returns on items that have been altered, modified, or custom-lubricated by the customer. Furthermore, any items damaged due to user error during assembly (such as bent switch pins) are not eligible for a return or refund. Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item.

Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on gift cards.

Exchanges
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.

European Union 14 day cooling off period
As we currently exclusively ship within the European Union (Belgium), your right to cancel or return your order within 14 days—for any reason and without a justification—is fully covered by our standard 14-day policy above. As mentioned, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unused, and in its original packaging.

Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method (minus the cost of the return label) within 10 business days.

Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too. If more than 15 business days have passed since we’ve approved your return, please contact us at hello@bonsaikeyboards.com.
