Honestly, they have been a default recommendation in the community for years. With the newer Pro version, Gateron basically took a reliable classic and fixed its minor flaws. They retooled the molds so the pieces fit together tighter, and added consistent factory lubrication. It essentially gives you a premium linear typing feel without forcing you to spend your weekend taking them apart to lube them yourself.

The acoustics of the milky housing

People often wonder why the "milky" part actually matters. It really just comes down to the plastics used. Standard clear switches often sound a bit thin or clacky when you type on them. This specific milky nylon blend does a really good job of absorbing higher-frequency spring ping and hollow echoes. When you combine that housing with the POM stem inside, the bottom-out sound becomes noticeably deeper. In the mechanical keyboard world, it delivers that classic "creamy" sound profile that makes typing genuinely satisfying.

Finding the right spring weight

The full milky housing of the KS-3 Pro sits perfectly in the middle. The translucent plastic acts as a natural light diffuser. It spreads the LEDs from your PCB out evenly, giving your desk setup a much softer, balanced look.

Note: These are 5-pin switches. If your keyboard only supports 3-pin switches, you can easily modify them by clipping off the two plastic side legs with a flush cutter.

Are these switches good for gaming?

Absolutely. Because they are linear switches, there is no tactile bump to overcome, making double-tapping very easy. The 50g spring provides an excellent balance, light enough for fast-paced gaming, but with just enough resistance to prevent accidental keypresses.

Will these switches let RGB light through?
