A genuinely quiet linear switch

If you work in a shared office or just prefer a quieter desk, the Kailh Deep Sea Silent Pro Box (Islet Edition) is worth looking into. We test a lot of silent switches, and a fair amount of them still produce a noticeable thud when you type. These actually do a great job at muting the sound, while keeping the linear keystroke feeling solid instead of mushy.

Internal dampening for a muted sound

The secret here is inside the switch housing. Kailh added specialized dampening pads that soften the impact of the stem. It takes away the loud clack you get from standard mechanical switches. Combined with the dark nylon base and the box stem design, the keys barely wobble and the overall acoustic profile stays very low-key.

Smooth and snappy out of the box

Nothing is more annoying than a scratchy linear switch or a metallic spring ping. Thankfully, these come lightly pre-lubed from the factory, which saves you hours of doing it yourself. Kailh also put in an extended spring. We found that this makes the key bounce back up quite fast, which helps prevent your fingers from feeling tired during long typing sessions, a common issue with heavily dampened switches.

Keeping your RGB bright

A lot of silent switches use solid, opaque plastics that block your keyboard's backlighting. To fix this, the Deep Sea switches use a transparent polycarbonate top cover and a built-in light guide. Your LEDs will shine through clearly, so you don't have to sacrifice your lighting setup for a quieter board.

Compatible keyboards

Any K series (Gateron Mechanical Hot-Swappable or Keychron Mechanical Hot-Swappable versions only), K Pro series (Normal-profile versions only), C and C Pro series (Hot-Swappable versions only), V and V Max series, Q, Q Pro and Q Max series Keychron keyboards, and L and P Series Lemokey keyboards.

Note: These are 5-pin switches. If your keyboard only supports 3-pin switches, you can easily modify them by clipping off the two plastic side legs with a flush cutter, and they will fit without any issues.
